Letter Recognition Worksheets – No Prep Printables

This PDF includes 26 worksheets. Each worksheet features one letter and shows 6 pictures (4 for q and 3 for x) of words that include that letter. Not every word will use the letter as the beginning sound – often the phoneme is elsewhere in the word. These printables ask students to find and circle the featured letter in the written word under each picture.

Print lines with tracing letters, both capital and lowercase, are included at the bottom of each worksheet, as well.

I love these printables for my preschoolers who struggle with phonological awareness because they show in a visual way how words are made of phonemes and the role of particular letters. I hope your students enjoy them as well!
