Does it Work Well?
Yes! I have always used the Scotch Laminating Pouches with this laminator and never had any issues! Just flip the switch on the back to 3 mil.
I’ve owned this laminator for 2 1/2 years and literally never had an issue with it!
That’s hard to say about anything else I’ve spent less than $20 on! I love my little home laminator…I guess it’s a teacher thing. 🙂
How Long Does It Take?
The product description boasts that it warms up in 4 minutes. I’ve never timed it, but I usually use that time to load some of my papers into the pouches and it’s ready before I know it.
Does it Jam?
There was one time I couldn’t get the laminator to accept a new sheet. Apparently the tab on the back was in the wrong position! The tab is to help release any jams in the machine. Obviously, I’ve never had it jam.
There are a few times that it’s crumpled the sides of the pouch, so be sure you insert your papers straight so they don’t run into the side of the machine as they’re being pulled through.
What Sizes Will It Accept?
Anything up to 9 inches wide. I’ve only ever used the pouches for 8.5×11.
So, you can’t laminate anything larger than a 9 inch poster. I’ve never found this to be an issue for my needs, though.
What Can I Laminate?
Everything!!!! I mean, you don’t have to, of course. But I’m obsessed with laminating things for my class I think!
I’ve laminated many of my products to use for posters or in my classroom library. I’ve laminated worksheets like this one that we use with washable markers:
I usually laminate anything paper that we use in our busy bags or centers. I’ve even laminated the cards from board games. It just really helps to protect the papers and make them last so much longer.
And that’s about it! If you have any questions, comment below.
If you want to know if this cheap little home laminator is worth the cost, my answer is YES!!!!! Absolutely. For less than $20, it’s done exactly as I wanted it to and still going strong after 2 1/2 years.
