How to Earn TpT Credits for Free Resources

Shannon | No Comments

Have you ever bought resources from TeachersPayTeachers.com? Did you know you can earn credits towards future purchases by leaving reviews on the products you purchased?  You can!  It takes only a few minutes, gives you points towards free resources, and helps the seller gain recognition, as well!  Here’s how to get your TpT credits.

How to Earn TpT Credits for Free Resources

Step 1: Find Your Past Purchases

How to Earn TpT Credits for Free Resources
Go to the menu by your profile picture. Click “My Purchases.”

TeachersPayTeachers makes this step (the whole process really!) pretty easy.  Just go to www.teacherspayteachers.com, sign in, and look for your username and profile picture at the top.  A menu should pop up when you hover over your name.  Your menu probably looks a little different than mine since you’re not a seller, but that’s okay.  Find the link for “My Purchases.”

Step 2: Choose a Product

How to Earn TpT Credits for Free Resources
Click “Provide Feedback.”

All of the resources you’ve ever purchased will be in this list, with the newest at the top.  There’s a tab for Paid Purchases, and a tab for Free Downloads.  You will not receive credits for Free Downloads, though the sellers really appreciate all feedback!

Click “Provide Feedback” next to the image of one of the products you purchased.

Step 3: Leave Helpful Feedback

Scroll down if you don’t see this form.

The point of leaving feedback is to help the seller.  Gaining credits is just an incentive to encourage buyers to leave feedback.  Good ratings help the seller continue to earn from their hard work.

So, please please leave constructive feedback!  As sellers, we expect all buyers to be satisfied and to give us A’s across the board.  But sometimes, we don’t deserve those A’s.  If the product is not what you were led to believe, say so in your feedback!  Please don’t leave a poor rating and no details.

→ If the product is what you were led to believe, and you’re satisfied with your download, please give the seller an A in each category and let them know what you love about the product!

Submit your comment when you’re done grading and leaving feedback.  You can go back to Step 1 and repeat the process for additional purchases.

All done! And it only took a minute!

Step 4: Using your Credits

How to Earn TpT Credits for Free Resources
After you earn 20 points, they’ll show up in your cart.

The next time you make a purchase, you’ll see this drop down in your cart.  You need a minimum of 20 credits (earned from feedback on $20 of purchases) to use them in your cart.  Don’t worry if you don’t have enough credits to use yet, they don’t expire!

How Many Points Do I Need to Get Free Resources?

For every dollar you spend on TpT, you can earn 1 point.  They also round up!  So if your purchase was $4.75, you’ll get 5 credits after leaving feedback.

When you’re spending credits, every 100 points equals $5.  You can use any number of points though, so if you have 50 points, you can save $2.50 off your purchase. You need a minimum of 20 points to apply them to your cart.

So if you want free resources, you’ll need to save up your points until you have enough to download something from your wish list for free.  Remember, 100 points = $5.

I hope this tutorial was helpful!  As a seller, I see a lot of downloads that never get feedback. So I think this means that buyers aren’t aware that they can receive points toward future purchases!  Because who wouldn’t take 2 minutes to leave feedback if they knew they’d get free money toward teaching resources?!

Well, now you know!  Please comment below if you have any questions!

My husband and I have been together since we were 14! We are blessed to have found each other so young and seem to have a bond that not many other couples share. He listens to me ramble on about whatever thing I may be passionate about each week, and is always there to lift me up when I'm down.

Tell me about your supporters in the comments! I know that being a mom or teacher are HARD and stressful and we all need someone to keep us sane.
